Biography

I was born and raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. My mother, a life-long educator, always encouraged me to pursue both an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree, and she set the bar for our family when she obtained several degrees, including a Doctorate of Education. When it came time to choose a college, the University of Oklahoma was an easy decision after spending many fall Saturdays during my childhood cheering on the Sooners at Owen Field.

After college, I attended law school at the University of Tulsa where I met my wife, Lauren, and we have been together ever since. During law school, I developed an interest in real estate and business law and began working at Barber & Bartz as a legal intern. I have been with the Firm since that time and became a Shareholder in 2015.

My interest in business started long before law school. Growing up, my dad, a former owner of an independent chain of pharmacies in Duncan, gave me hands-on experience in what it takes to operate a business. Whether I was stocking shelves, helping prepare for a big sale, delivering prescriptions, or sweeping the floors, I learned the importance of hard work, customer service, and taking pride in the details. Those lessons continue to influence the way I serve clients today.

I enjoy helping business owners, entrepreneurs, real estate developers, investors, trustees, boards, and other individuals and entities with a broad range of real estate, business, corporate, and transactional matters. I strive to provide practical, thoughtful, and responsive legal guidance that helps clients solve problems, protect their interests, and make informed decisions.

Lauren and I are the proud parents of two amazing children. Outside of the office, I enjoy playing basketball and golf, watching almost any sport in person or on TV, traveling with our family, and volunteering with not-for-profit organizations and causes that serve the Tulsa community.
